I've had to do this on every Dorman, Amazon, Ebay, or any aftermarket 2G door handle I've ever put on a 2G DSM Be aware, the metal tab on the door handle itself that the rod "snaps" into, will bend over time unless it's an OEM handle or an older Dorman HELP! handle
