The stainless and black DLC models don’t suffer in the looks department, IMO Nevertheless, the sample I handled was very well made and honestly I could find little to recommend against it I’ve seen some griping online about the blending of the thumb safety to the frame but I didn’t notice that in the one I handled

5 screw: 4 screws on the side (one normally under the grips) is the original way to hold the side plate on The one in front of the trigger guard, the fifth screw retained the cylinder lock spring 4 screw; One of the screws holding the side plate on was dropped in 195 (will edit later once I remember) making a 4 screw S W 3 screw; The screw in front of the trigger guard was dropped in 1962

The original large frame Vaquero was one well designed and solidly built single action I have a stainless one in 45 Colt with a 5 5" barrel and a friend of mine had a stainless 44 Magnum with a 7 5" barrel Either gun can handle any full house loads you care to come up with

It totally removed the burn rings on my stainless revolver with no difficulty Not stinky, but wearing nitrile gloves is probably a good idea Anything that attacks carbon like that can't be good for your skin I found the wonder cloth on Amazon--none available in my local stores
